On the front page of this week’s “Walcott Community News” is an announcement of a diphtheria immunization clinic to be held at the Walcott School on Saturday, March 10, 1934. At that time, the two story school building was located across the street from Victory Park.
On page four of the paper, a notice states that Werner & Son Ford Sales & Service received “another load of Ford V 8’s.” Then returning to page two and the Werner & Son ad, we find 8 new vehicles listed with prices for each. Notice, the Ford Victoria Delux had a sale price of $700. In today’s dollars, that same Ford Victoria Delux would sell for $13,788.
