The mustache contest is over and the winners are announced in the “Walcott Community News.”  Check out all the names.  Also, the last page of the paper includes a notice about the water rent being due and an article explaining the charges by Walcott Trust and Savings Bank for cashing out of town checks.

The winner of the mustache contest, Louis “Ike” Koch, was a well-known local resident who in 1937 became one of the owners of the Walcott Coliseum.  In the newspaper clipping below, we learn that the seller, Henry Beckman, owned more than just the Walcott Coliseum on E. Bryant Street.
