This week in the “Who’s Who in Walcott” column, the “Walcott Community News” features a woman, Mrs Amalia Schwarting who was lovingly called “Tante” (Aunt) Molly by everyone. She was the wife of William Schwarting, who was Vice-President of the Farmer’s Saving Bank, the precursor to Walcott Trust and Savings Bank, and the son of Bernhard Schwarting.
Check out the New Year’s Eve Party planned by the Walcott Coliseum. It’s on the 3rd page of the newspaper. The Rathskeller (basement) had a 50′ bar and a capacity of 160 people. Dancing from 8:30 till 5 a.m. was planned. Quite a party!
